Celebrating Paczki Day

 In Pre School, Toddlers

Today we celebrated the Paczki Day which is a Polish festival also known as ‘Fat Thursday’ which is very much like our own Shrove Tuesday.  To celebrate this  Edyta our Polish practitioner counted to 10  in Polish and read 2 of our favourite stories – Handa’s Surprise and Farmer Duck in English and also Polish.

Edyta’s Mum  Danuta baked a traditional cake called ‘Rogalia’  which is a Polish delicacy. The Butterfly and Pre-school children all had a taste and thought it was delicious.  A big thank-you to Danuta for sending in the Rogalia.

In Poland they also eat doughnuts to celebrate this festival so the children had mini doughnuts for tea!
