Celebrating Robbie Burns Birthday
The Pre-school children enjoyed taking part in lots of Scottish activities to celebrate Robbie Burns birthday. Julie our Scottish Administrator showed the children a tartan kilt and asked them if they knew what is was, she explained that it was a traditional item of clothing worn by both ladies and men. Julie then read a poem about the Loch Ness monster and all the children were given a monster to hold and shout ‘Monster’ when it came up in the poem which they thoroughly enjoyed.
The Pre-school Ladies then read poems to the children and told them Robbie Burns was a famous poet. They then created their very own tartan and Nessie pictures for the display.
