Celebrating Rosh Hashanah
Pre-school have been celebrating the Jewish festival – Rosh Hashanah. Ancient Jews believed that apples had healing powers and honey signified hope!
The children helped to pick apples off our trees in the garden, after they had washed them they took it in turns to dip them into honey – they were delicious!
They also played with apples in the water tray, and printed with them creating lovely paintings!
John our nursery Chef made a delicious Jewish meal for all the nursery it was a beef brisket, potato and leek Kugel with mixed veg the children loved it and for tea was homemade Rosh Hashanah Honey cake!
