World Book Day
Celebrating World Book Day – what a day we’ve had with so many different stories to share. Everyone came dressed as a character from a book, there were so many different costumes but just to name a few – Iron Man, The Gruffalo, Harry Potter, Aliens in Underpants, Batman, Princesses, Little Red Riding Hoods.
The babies gathered together in two groups and enjoyed Peppa Pig stories, Aliens in Underpants Save the World, That’s Not My…… and sang lots of songs from Mr Tumble. The Cocoon Toddlers were entertained by the Ladies as they acted out the lovely story of Dear Zoo. The Butterfly Ladies performed A Squash and a Squeeze which is a favourite of the children, they thought it was very funny! The Pre-schoolers were read Aliens in Underpants by Yvonne and also Alice in Wonderland (a story Penelope brought in) and then Naomi read Ten Little Pirates (which Felix brought in). During the afternoon all the children listened to many more stories and walked down a catwalk in their finest fancy dress costumes!
John our cook who was dressed as Where’s Wally even made a delicious Gruffalo Pie which was topped in pastry Gruffalo’s and each child had one for lunch! For tea John made Leek and Potato soup followed by Welsh cakes (as well as World Book Day its was St. David’s Day too!)
